Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
tasguides.com is an independent educational publication at tasguides.com. In this policy, “we” and “us” refer to the people operating this website. For privacy inquiries, contact info@tasguides.com.
This policy explains what information is handled when you read the site, why, which third parties may be involved, and the choices you have. It covers this website only, not the external websites our guides link to.
This policy was last updated on October 19, 2026.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide voluntarily
When you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message. We use these details to handle your inquiry. Resend processes and delivers the message to our inbox. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. Please do not send passwords or payment details.
Form messages are not saved to a website database or included in application logs. Our email provider and inbox process and retain correspondence; we keep it only as needed to handle inquiries and meet applicable obligations. Short-lived request counters help prevent spam. The site has no account system, newsletter or comment area.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, the servers that deliver these pages may automatically record technical request data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested, the referring URL and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
If you allow analytics or advertising cookies, Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising may additionally collect information described in sections 4 and 5, such as pages visited, time on page and how you interact with pages.
We do not collect phone numbers, device model information, printer serial numbers, or any information that could be used to create a support ticket or service request. We do not collect payment or financial information, and we have no social login or social media tracking.
3. How we use your information
- To reply if you email us.
- To understand site traffic and improve our guides, using analytics only after you consent.
- To measure the performance of advertising for this site through Microsoft Advertising, only after you consent.
- To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website itself.
We do not use your information to provide technical support, sell products, or contact you by phone.
4. Cookies and tracking technologies
- Essential: your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the banner does not ask again. The site does not use login or session cookies.
- Analytics (Microsoft Clarity): loaded only after you allow analytics.
- Advertising (Microsoft Advertising UET tag): loaded only after you allow advertising.
No tracking cookies are loaded until you provide consent through our cookie banner. Selecting “Reject All” or “Necessary Only” keeps both optional categories off. Full details, including cookie names and durations, are in our Cookie Policy.
Current status. Neither Microsoft Clarity nor Microsoft Advertising UET is configured on this site at the moment. Even if you select “Accept All”, no analytics or advertising script is requested. This policy describes how they will work once they are enabled; the consent banner will control them from that point.
5. Third-party services
- Microsoft Advertising (UET tag): measures visits and conversions that arrive from ads. If you allow advertising, Microsoft receives data such as your IP address, pages visited and a cookie identifier, and processes it under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and session recordings that show how pages are used, so we can improve layout and readability. If you allow analytics, Clarity may process your IP address, pseudonymous identifiers, device and browser details, and the clicks, scrolling and page content of your visit. Clarity masks text it identifies as sensitive, but masking cannot be guaranteed to catch everything, so we do not describe this data as anonymous. Clarity's separate advertising permission allows sharing with Microsoft Ads only when you also allow advertising and GPC is not enabled.
- Hosting provider: Our hosting service delivers the site and may process request data (see section 2) to do so.
- Email: the site does not use a contact form or an email-sending service. If you email us, your message is handled by our ordinary email provider.
We do not sell or rent your personal data. If you allow advertising and GPC is not enabled, configured Microsoft services may use the UET data and permitted Clarity advertising sharing described above under Microsoft's terms, including improving its advertising services. Keeping advertising off or enabling GPC prevents these optional advertising uses on this site.
6. Data retention
- Emails you send us: kept only as long as needed to reply and handle your message, then deleted.
- Analytics and advertising data: retained by Microsoft under its own retention policies. Microsoft's UET documentation states that UET data is retained for 390 days; Clarity retention is set by Microsoft and described in its documentation.
- Server request logs: kept by our hosting provider for the period its own policies set.
- Your cookie choice: remembered in your browser's local storage for up to 180 days from your last saved choice, after which optional categories stay off until you choose again. Ordinary visits do not extend this period. We no longer accept earlier 12-month records and ask those visitors again. Clearing site data or a future material consent-policy change can prompt a new choice sooner. This re-consent period is separate from Microsoft's data retention and is not a guarantee of legal consent validity in every location. You can clear the record at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
7. Your rights
- Right to know what personal data we hold about you.
- Right to request deletion of that data.
- Right to opt out of tracking at any time via “Cookie Settings” in the footer. Turning a category off stops it, clears the cookies it set on this site, and reloads the page.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Allowing advertising cookies lets Microsoft receive data about your visit, which California law may treat as “sharing” for advertising; keeping advertising off (the default) opts you out. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
To opt out of optional advertising tracking in this browser, open Cookie Settings, turn off “Advertising: Microsoft UET”, and save your choices. You can also choose “Reject All” to disable both optional categories. Repeat this on each browser or device you use. This control works without providing a name or email address.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser exposes an enabled GPC signal, we honor it as an advertising opt-out for every visitor, without checking location. It prevents Microsoft UET from loading and keeps Clarity's advertising permission denied, even if you previously allowed advertising or select “Accept All”. Cookie Settings shows advertising locked off. Analytics remains a separate opt-in; GPC does not grant analytics permission.
We recheck GPC before applying choices and when you return to a page. Where browser storage is available, an old advertising grant is replaced with an opt-out, without renewing its expiry, so turning GPC off will not restore it. This applies to the current browser, not all devices or Microsoft services. See the Cookie Policy for details. Privacy rights depend on applicable law; these technical controls do not establish universal legal compliance.
To exercise any right, email info@tasguides.com. We may need to confirm your request before acting on it. Because we hold very little data and no accounts, we may simply have nothing to return.
8. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when a service is enabled or removed. Changes are posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
