Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
1. Our commitment
We are committed to making tasguides.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. This is a goal we work toward, not a certification: the site has not been formally audited by an independent accessibility specialist.
2. What we do
These are the practices we design and build to. We check them with automated tools and manual keyboard testing, but automated checks cannot catch every issue.
- Semantic HTML with one H1 per page and an ordered heading hierarchy.
- Keyboard-operable menus, carousels, search, and the cookie settings panel (which traps focus while open and closes with Escape).
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text colours chosen to meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
- Touch targets sized toward at least 44 by 44 pixels for primary controls.
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
- Responsive layouts designed for screens from 320px to 1920px wide.
- Animations reduced or removed when your device requests reduced motion.
- Readable fonts at standard sizes that can be zoomed by the browser.
3. Known limitations
- Not every text and background pairing, including text over photographs, has been individually measured, so some contrast ratios may fall short.
- Some smaller inline and footer links on wide screens are shorter than 44 pixels tall, although they keep standard spacing.
- Until you make a choice, the cookie banner sits along the bottom of the screen and can cover part of the page on small screens. It does not block the page and disappears once you choose.
- Diagrams and illustrations carry text descriptions, but some complex diagrams may not convey every detail non-visually.
- Links lead to manufacturer and third-party websites whose accessibility we do not control.
4. Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site, please let us know. Tell us the page address and what happened.
Email: info@tasguides.com
We take accessibility feedback seriously and will work to address issues promptly.
5. Legal framework
For information: in the United States, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act set accessibility expectations, and WCAG is widely used as the technical reference for meeting them. This statement describes our goals and practices and is not a claim of formal compliance with either law or of an independent audit.
