Editorial Policy
How guides are sourced, written, attributed and corrected, and the limits of what we claim.
Scope
tasguides.com publishes general educational guides about device drivers on Windows 11 and macOS for everyday users. Guides describe common, reversible steps. They are not a substitute for the instructions of the company that made your computer or device, and they do not cover every model or configuration.
Sourcing
- We base guides on documentation published by Microsoft, Apple and hardware makers such as Intel and AMD, and link those sources in each guide's manufacturer websites section.
- Where a source makes a specific distinction, for example that some chipset software only identifies components, we report it in plain language rather than overstate it.
- We recommend only these update routes: Windows Update, macOS Software Update, and the support pages of the computer or device maker.
How guides are drafted
Guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, working from the sources above, and edited for clarity, caution and consistency with this policy. We do not claim that guides have been tested on every device, reviewed by credentialed specialists, or checked by a named expert.
Attribution
Guides are attributed to the publication, shown as "Published by tasguides.com", rather than to an individual. We do not invent authors or reviewers. Structured data for guides names the publication as an organization, not a person.
Safety rules every guide follows
- Back up and create a restore point before driver changes, and explain how to roll back.
- No advice to disable Secure Boot, System Integrity Protection or driver signature checks.
- No blind storage-mode changes, formatting or partitioning, and no firmware updates without the maker's instructions and a backup.
- No third-party driver updater tools or download sites.
Dates and updates
Each guide shows when it was published and last updated. We update a guide when its sources change, when steps in Windows or macOS move, or when a reader reports an error. The updated date reflects a substantive edit, not a cosmetic one.
Corrections
To report an error, email info@tasguides.com with the page address. Confirmed errors are corrected and the guide's updated date is changed.
Independence
We are not paid by, affiliated with or endorsed by any hardware or software company. Product names are used to identify hardware only. See the Disclaimer for the limits of this information.
